Effective Date: June 2026 PIPEDA Compliant

01 Introduction & Overview

Marketikx ("we", "us", "our") is a digital marketing agency based in Canada, serving businesses across Canada and the Americas. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of every individual who interacts with our website, services, and communications.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. This policy applies to our website at www.marketikx.com and all services we provide.

By using our website or submitting your information through our contact form, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. If you have questions or concerns, contact us at hello@marketikx.com.

02 Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it or when it is automatically collected as part of your use of our website.

Information You Provide Directly

When you complete our contact form, we collect:

  • Full Name — to address you appropriately in our communications
  • Email Address — to respond to your enquiry and send you relevant information
  • Phone Number — to contact you for a consultation call (optional)
  • Business Name — to understand your business context (optional)
  • Service Interest — to direct your enquiry to the right team member
  • Your Message — the details of your enquiry, goals, or questions

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain information is collected automatically through Google Analytics and standard web server logs, including:

  • IP Address (anonymised — the last octet is masked)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring website (where you came from)
  • Geographic location (country/city level only)
  • Cookie identifiers (see Section 4)

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, health information, or government identification numbers.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry — contacting you about your submission, scheduling a consultation call, and providing the information you requested
  • To provide our services — if you become a client, to deliver the digital marketing services you have engaged us for
  • To improve our website — using anonymised analytics data to understand which pages are most useful and to improve user experience
  • To send relevant communications — only with your explicit consent, occasional marketing emails about our services, insights, or resources (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To comply with legal obligations — retaining records as required by applicable Canadian law

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We only use your information for the purposes stated above. We do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

04 Google Analytics & Cookies

Cookies We Use

Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to operate and improve the site. We use the following types:

  • Analytics Cookies — placed by Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use our site. These cookies do not identify you personally.
  • Functional Cookies — used to remember your cookie consent preference so we don't ask again on every visit.

We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-S1M810737J) to understand website traffic and user behaviour in aggregate. Google Analytics collects anonymised data including pages visited, session duration, and general geographic location.

We have enabled IP anonymisation so that your full IP address is never stored by Google Analytics. The data collected is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you individually.

Google Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.

Our website displays a cookie consent notice on your first visit. By clicking "Accept" you consent to our use of analytics cookies.

05 Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our website and business. Each is bound by their own privacy policies:

Service Purpose Data Shared
Google Analytics Website traffic analysis Anonymised usage data, cookies
Vercel Website hosting & delivery Server logs, IP addresses (transient)
Google Sheets / Apps Script Contact form submissions Name, email, phone, message

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties unless required to do so by law or with your explicit consent.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

06 Data Storage & Security

Where Your Data Is Stored

Our website is hosted on Vercel, which operates data centres primarily in North America. Contact form submissions are stored in Google Sheets, which is hosted on Google's secure cloud infrastructure. Both providers are industry leaders in data security and comply with applicable privacy regulations.

As a Canadian business, we are subject to PIPEDA. However, some of our third-party providers (Vercel, Google) may process data in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using our website you acknowledge that your information may be transferred outside Canada, subject to the privacy protections of those providers.

Security Measures

We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification, including:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages of our website
  • Access controls limiting who can view form submissions
  • Regular review of our data handling practices
  • Use of reputable, security-certified third-party providers

No method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention Period

We retain contact form submissions for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up communications — typically no longer than 2 years. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (the default GA4 setting). You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

07 Your Rights Under PIPEDA

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right of Access

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to know how it is being used.

Right to Correction

If your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct it.

You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 8. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

For complaints not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or by phone at 1-800-282-1376.
